Taken on a still morning in October 2008 in the BWCAW in northern Minnesota. I was able to pack tent, gear, and fishing supplies in with me, and still be able to run the spillway of a beaver dam. The boat is made out of a pile of recycled cedar and spruce siding, plus a few strips of walnut for accents.
This is my first kayak, but I had built 3 canoes previously.
Taken at a portage landing in the BWCAW in October 2008. Construction completed July 2008. Average speed (by gps) on an 11.6 mile paddle was 4.5 mph. It's stable enough to fish in and I was even able to duck hunt from it last November.
